We may also be able to offer more bespoke services such as:

  • Determining the carbon footprint of your business
  • Help with developing and environmental policy
  • Training and workshops

Support with renewable energy installations

Many businesses are now looking to generate energy on their own sites using one of a number of renewable energy technologies. Live & Work Rural can help you to determine which is the most appropriate for your business and the economics of such an installation.

Installing a renewable energy technology within the Peak District National Park can have a significant impact on the special character of the area and therefore special consideration needs to be given to the location and impact of any installation. However, it is also important to locate technologies in places which will ensure that the often significant investment made into them is repaid at an appropriate rate. To help you to determine which technologies and locations to consider, Live & Work Rural can lend eligible businesses a ‘Power Predictor’ which can help to model the likely output from wind and solar installations.  Please note the most appropriate location in terms of energy generation may not be appropriate in terms of environmental impact and you should discuss proposals and their siting with the Planning Service at the earliest opportunity.

Live & Work Rural Factsheets

And particularly in the case of renewable technologies, which is most appropriate for them. To help you to determine what method will be most effective in your business and what technical and planning issues should be considered, we have developed the factsheets listed below which are free to download:
