Summer Events at Longdendale

This summer the staff from the Peak District National Park’s Learning and Discovery Service are running a series of family events from Longdendale Environmental Centre. Do come and join us for some fun in the outdoors.

All events cost £3 per child

Wonderful Woods and Wild Boggart’s - Sunday 24 July 10:30am  3:00pm

Activities to find out more about the trees of the Peak District and the mischievous creatures that live in them. A day of discovery, crafts and family fun. Drop in any time between 10am and 3pm. Suitable for children aged from 3 to 11.

August 2011

Little Imps Picnic - Wednesday August 3 10:30am –2:00 pm

Fun for Under 8s in the wildlife area at the Centre. Play sensory games and join in some summer time craft activities.

Down By the Pond -  Wednesday August 10  10:30am – 1:00 pm

Pond dipping and bug hunting down by the pond. Come and discover the amazing creatures that live in our wildlife area. Suitable for children from 3 to 11.

Brilliant Bush Craft - Wednesday August 17 10:30am – 1:00 pm

Come and learn how to build shelters and light fires responsibly.  Come wearing purple, pink or green so you can join in with camouflage games. Suitable for children from 8 to 14.

Art for Arts sake - Wednesday August 24

Join in a range of art activities all inspired by the natural environment around the centre  Suitable for anyone with an artistic spark. (Age 6 to 14 recommended).
