Secondary education visits

The Losehill Learning Team offers a comprehensive range of field studies for secondary schools, FE and HE colleges. Our aim is to promote an increased understanding of the Peak District National Park by:

  • helping students to better explore their world through fieldwork.
  • valuing children and young peoples experiences and curiosity.
  • encouraging learners to have a sense of the “big picture”.
  • enabling students to have a safe, fun and enjoyable experience.

Field studies and education visits for secondary and tertiary students in the Peak District National Park (920KB)

Losehill programmes are fixed length courses with clearly stated outcomes that enable teachers to quickly and easily book field trips, safe in the knowledge that the field trip will be directly related to work taught in the classroom and will contribute to achieving the geography and science curricula. Teacher’s notes and risk assessments are available for download.

Each programme can be adapted to suit particular age groups and teachers are encouraged to talk to the Learning team about their specific needs.

As well as covering specific elements of the geography and science curricula all field trips also place a strong emphasis on developing personal confidence and team-building skills and an opportunity to consider aspects of Citizenship.
