Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Peak District Ramble.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the national park and the 10th anniversary of this fundraising walk.

The 10-mile circular hike gives walkers the opportunity to explore the stunning and diverse landscapes of the Peak District. Taking in spectacular views around the Iron Age settlement of Mam Tor, the route offers a challenging hike to both novice and experienced walkers.

Route in brief: the walk sets out from Edale Village Hall and heads towards Hollins Cross. It then follows the path to Mam Tor, then onto Mam Nick. From Mam Nick it follows the ‘walkers’ footpath’ up onto the ridge heading towards Chapel Gate. From Chapel Gate walkers will head to Upper Booth and back towards Edale Village Hall via Grindsbrook Booth where tea, coffee and soup will be waiting for them.

Registration costs £10, but everyone is asked to raise as much as possible - £100 pays for five hours of nursing care, and £180 pays for a full night’s shift in a patient’s home.
